I’ve had better luck with bisexual women than either gay men or straight women – even in the best of circumstances where gay guys & straight girls work hard to understand, the jealousy factor seems always there …but when I am with a bi girl there is less threat. The Kinsey scale attempts to describe a person’s sexual identity using a rating scale of 0-6 (exclusively heterosexual to exclusively homosexual). How can something so fluid and multi-dimensional as sexuality be labeled so concretely by 7 number ratings?

D.R. is not out to her parents/family back home. She says, “It’s not that I’m scared they would stop loving me but I just feel I owe them more…and being gay would stray from not only ideal perfection parents hope for in their kids, but ‘normalcy’ in general…I’d be flawed without recuperation if I came out to them.”
